Liga Gala 2022

Liga held its first successful Gala on April 29, 2022 hosted in the community at The Felt Factory. Liga’s Gala was produced by Duarte Entertainment who brought in Limi-T21 straight from Puerto Rico. Duarte Entertainment also produced a podcast with pioneers of La Liga and brought in Pat Croce (former Sixer’s GM) who, during the live broadcast challenged the world to match his donation of 25k to bring Liga its new home gym. 

The Gala represented a celebration of serving over 17,000 youth and their families for over 20 years in the Latino community to date. Liga’s Gala Honors Alumni from over the 20 plus years of service, serving many of whom now hold a Doctorate in Pharmacy like Samuel Reveron, or those playing overseas professional basketball like Kamiah Smalls and Jose Ortiz (only Liga Player whose jersey was retired in a ceremony attended and presented by Governor Tom Wolf), or Lateef Scott, who is an Amature Muay & MMA Champion, or Raymond A. Alvarez, a Phila Police Officer, or Malcolm Welles and Radame Rivera, Jr., educators, just to name a few.

Liga’s story has begun, the first ever (Liga Podcast) was launched on on February 22, 2022 with episode one telling the story of La Liga dating back to January 2000.
